KEN STRINGFELLOW
BRIEF
Ken is an American artist born on October 30th, in the sunny state of California. He has been doing music since the age of 11. The genres that his music is, but not limited to: Alternative Rock, Punk Rock, Power Pop and Singer Songwriter. Over the years, he has worked with a wide range of bands and other musicians; (The Posies, Big Star, R.E.M, The Disciplines, Lagwagon, Sky Cries Mary, Saltine, White Flag, The Minus Five), are just a tiny sample.
In 1988, Ken and Jon Auer created the band The Posies and had released their first album Failure. The
Posies released a handful of albums since then and have been touring from time to time.
In 1993, Ken and Jon were recruited to join Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens for a Big Star reunion and
they also recorded as members of Big Star.
In 1998 Ken joined up with R.E.M and performed with the band on world tours in 1999, 2003 thru 2005,
and appeared on several R.E.M. records, including the Man on the Moon soundtrack, Reveal, and
Around the Sun.
When he is not busy composing his own songs, or touring with bands, Ken is in the studio with other
musicians helping produce and record their music. He is also currently working on a film called Ken-The
Movie, which is a hypnotic journey through today's America and the inner world of the offbeat musician
named Ken.
Ken is an amazingly talented musician, writer, punster, father and husband. He travels all over the world
sharing with everyone a little bit of himself and his passion for music and life. He helps inspire people
around him and is just a positive, fun person to be around.
